Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the image of V.I. Lenin in modern Russian films and TV series "The Demon of Revolution", "Chronicles of the Russian Revolution" and "The Mummy". The main strategies of media representation of the Soviet leader are considered, among which demonization, caricature reduction, biologization, conspiracy theory and the use of occult symbols occupy a special place. It has been established that modern Russian films and TV series often replace historical complexity with emotionally saturated images and dramatized plots, as a result of which the figure of Lenin turns from a historical figure into a media symbol of a political catastrophe and a public threat. It is concluded that such representations have a significant impact on the processes of historical memory formation and may contribute to weakening ideas about the continuity of the imperial, Soviet and modern stages of Russian history.
