Abstract

The method of fairy tale therapy has recently become more and more popular. This is not surprising, since both the rational and the irrational in human culture and in human consciousness are inextricably linked. And while thinking is rational, the emotional reaction to the world is often irrational and stems from the unconscious nature of the human psyche. Therefore, even for the person themself, the range of their emotional reactions to the world, as well as the internal mechanisms of their formation and manifestation, are often neither completely transparent nor understandable. The use of such modern and topical technologies as fairy-tale therapy allows for integration with the unconscious contents through suggestive influence directly affecting archetypal images. By influencing the human unconscious through the meanings hidden in fairy-tales both cultural and linguistic impact on the individual and therapeutic healing of group and individual mental disorders and illnesses are carried out. Nowadays the method of fairy tale therapy is becoming more and more demanded in the activity of practical psychologists, which, undoubtedly, raises the interest of researchers in the application of the meaning and text of fairy-tales for the purpose of psychological therapy. From the standpoint of philosophical hermeneutics, the fairy tale appears as a set of coded symbols that form value attitudes and give meaning to events and deeds through an imaginary story. The fairy-tale contains symbols and metaphors open for interpretation, which require deep understanding and comparison with the inner experience of the individual. The article analyzes the scientific and philosophical approaches to defining the essence of fairy tale therapy as a significant and actual method of modern practical psychology; the possibilities of fairy tale therapy in applied psychology are studied and shown. The influence of fairy-tale therapy on the formation of an emotional picture of the world is demonstrated on the example of individual fairy tales. And the purpose of this study is to reveal the potential of fairy tale therapy in the context of the transition from the individual to the personality in the process of growing up or the individualization of a person.
